Job Description: The State Nutrition Coordinator (SNC) will oversee the day-to-day management of the nutrition-related deliverables under the CDC State Physical Activity and Nutrition (SPAN) Cooperative Agreement. This position resides within RIDOH’s Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL) Program. Within this role, the SNC will execute on work plan strategies and activities related to: 1) Institutional Procurement 2) Fruit and Vegetable Voucher Incentive Programs 3) Produce Rx Programs 4) Early Childcare and Education (ECE)/Farm to ECE 5) Breastfeeding (in partnership with WIC, MCH and State Breastfeeding Coordinator). The SNC will also work closely with the HEAL Program Evaluator to ensure that CDC short, medium and long term outcomes and performance measures are on track. The SNC will also provide subject matter expertise and technical assistance to internal and external partners along with implementation of evidence-based and promising practices to increase access to nutritious and culturally appropriate foods for all Rhode Islanders. Work will include all settings including: child care centers, family child care homes, state parks, Health Equity Zones, food banks and food pantries; among others. To act as support staff to the Interagency Food and Nutrition Policy Advisory Council (IFNPAC) and the Institutional Procurement Working Group. Participate in all Hunger Elimination Task Force Meetings and Communities of Practice. Strong writing skills required within this role, as well as strong project management skills. Strong commitment to achieving health equity for all Rhode Islanders.

Job Description: The State Nutrition Coordinator (SNC) will oversee the day-to-day management of the nutrition-related deliverables under the CDC State Physical Activity and Nutrition (SPAN) Cooperative Agreement. This position resides within RIDOH’s Healthy Eating and Active Living (HEAL) Program. Within this role, the SNC will execute on work plan strategies and activities related to: 1) Institutional Procurement 2) Fruit and Vegetable Voucher Incentive Programs 3) Produce Rx Programs 4) Early Childcare and Education (ECE)/Farm to ECE 5) Breastfeeding (in partnership with WIC, MCH and State Breastfeeding Coordinator). The SNC will also work closely with the HEAL Program Evaluator to ensure that CDC short, medium and long term outcomes and performance measures are on track. The SNC will also provide subject matter expertise and technical assistance to internal and external partners along with implementation of evidence-based and promising practices to increase access to nutritious and culturally appropriate foods for all Rhode Islanders. Work will include all settings including: child care centers, family child care homes, state parks, Health Equity Zones, food banks and food pantries; among others. To act as support staff to the Interagency Food and Nutrition Policy Advisory Council (IFNPAC) and the Institutional Procurement Working Group. Participate in all Hunger Elimination Task Force Meetings and Communities of Practice. Strong writing skills required within this role, as well as strong project management skills.
