Job Description: We are looking for a registered dietitian to help deliver a research program for adolescents with obesity. The HealthTrac program is a group-based intervention focused on improving healthy eating, physical activity, and behavioral skills to support modest weight reduction in teens. The program is co-run by a psychologist and a registered dietitian. Duties include primary responsibility for delivering the intervention nutrition content, participating in training and ongoing supervision meetings, and coordinating individual telephone contacts with teens as needed.. To supervise and instruct one or more dietitians and subordinate personnel engaged in preparing and serving food. To plan menus in accordance with established dietary and nutritional standards and/or adapt the master menu to meet the needs of the institution or agency served. To determine the proper quantities and kinds of food to be served in compliance with the established dietary standards for the institution or agency served; to check regularly on the adherence to such dietary standards and standards of sanitation. To be responsible for the preparation of therapeutic diets in accordance with medical prescriptions and consultation with medical staff; to record results on medical charts. To complete nutritional assessments on chronic care patients. To participate in patient/team conferences. To perform patient visitations for diet histories, food preferences and/or other pertinent information. To review medical records of both acute and chronic care patients and document nutritional status when necessary. To be responsible for the instruction of patients and their families upon discharge as to the need for such diets and the proper procedure for their application. To assist and cooperate with administrative personnel on any dietary administrative problems. To attend departmental meetings and team conferences. Job Description:
Faculty members are responsible for providing students with a rich, relevant and engaging academic experience. The faculty role encompasses teaching, student outcomes assessment, curriculum development, student advising, and university service. Faculty continuously engage in professional development while maintaining current expertise in the applicable content area and developing students through effective and innovative teaching and learning practices. Essential Job Functions Demonstrates specialized knowledge and maintains expertise in the theory, skills, and pedagogy of the applicable discipline or profession Uses strategies and skills necessary to support student learning and prepares and delivers current and relevant course material in an understandable and motivating manner Continually assesses course objectives and instructional methods to improve teaching and learning Uses formative and summative assessments of student learning within assigned courses to inform instruction and improve student attainment of course objectives and program outcomes Establishes a student and advisor relationship that provides guidance with regard to program choices and career possibilities and supports student educational growth through guided decision making Supports the university's outcomes initiatives by working to refine and revise course assignments and evaluation tools and leading or participating in data analysis discussions to make program and course improvements Facilitates development and revision of programs and courses, assuring alignment within the program description and outcomes, course objectives and content, as well as university curriculum standards Attends commencement, convocation, faculty meetings, department meetings, committee meetings, professional development programs, and other university events, as applicable Supports student enrollment and retention by participating in university events, advising student clubs and organizations, and assisting with admissions activities Adheres to and fulfills the responsibilities of all faculty members as outlined in the faculty manual Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum of a master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field of study from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or other appropriate accreditation as determined by Johnson & Wales University Moderate amount of experience with post-secondary teaching, clinical or community nutrition professional practice or a combination thereof Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential Evidence of service to the profession and/or community Preferred Qualifications Earned doctoral degree in a relevant area of study Advanced practitioner credentials in nutrition or a related practice Two or more years of experience with teaching or precepting Four or more years of experience of clinical and/or community nutrition experience Demonstrated record of scholarly activity Proficiency with online learning management system
